These Buns are fluffy and super easy to make. The bread buns can be filled with anything else that you like, like salmon & cheese. These are lovely for a brunch setting.
Now for this recipe you need a normal size cup, that you use throughout the recipe for all the ingredients that calls for a cup. For the quantity of about 200ml.
1 glass of milk (lukewarm)
1 glass of oil (flavorless)
1 glass of water (lukewarm)
2 Tbsp sugar.
2 tsp dry yeast.
2 teaspoon of salt.
6 glasses of flour.
1 egg plus + 1 egg yolk to give it a nice shine.
Wild Garlic Pesto or any Pesto
Cherry tomatoes and olives.
Add the milk, water, yeast, sugar, salt into a bowl. Stir well. Add the egg, and gradually add the flour to form a smooth, but not firm dough (I used a stand mixer for this). Cover it and let it rest for 1 hour at a warm place. After the dough has risen, form little equal balls and set it into a baking tray, laid out with parchment paper. Then make a little mold into the middle of one bun and fill it with your wild garlic pesto tomatoes and olives. Let it rise another 20 minutes. Glaze the buns with egg yolk. Make sure not to add the egg yolk onto the filling or it will burn. Bake buns for about 30 minutes or until really golden brown at 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit. Enjoy freshly and warm!
