Karak Chai

Karak Chai is a world famous Indian Tea, that I really enjoy drinking. There are many recipes on how to make it. This simply is my version of this Strong Indian Tea!


What you need for 2 teacups:

2 tsp. loose English breakfast tea ( or 2 teabags)

1/2 of a cinnamon stick

8 green cardamom pods ( slightly crushed)

5  whole cloves

1/2 inch fresh ginger

2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk

2 1/4 cups of water


In a pot add the water, the cinnamon stick, the green Cardamon pods,the fresh ginger with the cloves and bring it to a boil. When the water comes to a boil, add the tea and simmer for one minute. Turn off the heat and cover it and let it steep for two minutes.  After two minutes, add the sweetened condensed milk and bring it back to a boil.  Let it boil for about one minute. Strain your tea through a strainer, and serve it hot
