Red Wine Cupcakes

A good glas of red and one of those sweet darlings, makes it a special treat for your self or for any company

 

for the cupcake you need:

2 sticks and 2 tablesp. of butter ( room temp.)
2 1/8 cups of flour
1 1/8 cup sugar
1 teasp. vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
2 tablsp. coco powder 
1 teasp. baking powder
1 teasp. ground cinnamon
1/4 teasp. ground nutmeg
1/4 teasp. ground clove
1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles
1/4 cup dry red wine
4 eggs
 

separate the eggs, and beat the egg whites till they are stiff. beat butter, sugar, vanilla, salt and egg yolks till they are nice and creamy combined. add the spices, and coco powder to the creamy mixture. mix the flour with the baking powder and mix it with the  mixture. add the wine and the sprinkles to the dough. fold in the stiff egg whites.

bake at 350 fahrenheit or 180 C for about 20 min. keep watching. let them cool  to frost.

 

wine frosting:

now here is what i did to make a wine frosting. i mixed1/2 cup of red wine and 1/4 cup of sugar and cooked it on low heat, till the wine turned it to a thick syrup ( a little less then a 1/4 of a cup). i let it cool off and mixed it in to my fav. white butter cream.
